- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2012Jordon,
Making conversation at a work related dinner event, I asked what you did when you weren't working and fully expected an answer along the lines of "I spend time with family and friends". I was surprised when you said you were a writer and had also created your book's cover artwork.
My wife and I loved the artwork and being a "wanna be" writer myself, I knew I had to buy your book. You did not disappoint me and like the other reviewers here, I hope a sequel is coming very soon!
"Still waters run deep" sums up my impression after first meeting you and now after enjoying your artwork and writings, I see those waters are far from still but certainly deep. You have a real and expressive talent! Please keep pursuing your passion.
You have an ability to organize, research and pull together a very tightly written story. You immediately got my attention with your detailed descriptions and I was quickly pulled into Agent Tom Larson's world. Fallen Lotus Petals is believable, contemporary and so very well written, I fully expected follow up coverage on the nightly news! Thank you.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2010Fallen Lotus Petal, By Jordan Papanier is a FBI thriller that will have you turning pages faster then you can read. It deals will very complex modern issues that face law enforcement with drugs, smuggling and prostitution. His main character FBI agent Tom Larson is a guy that you hope really exists in today's world. Papanier is very descriptive of his scenes and you can really get the feeling of each place he takes you. I hope that this author continues to give us more of Agent Tom Larson.
I would recommend this book to all FBI/Law enforcement book lovers
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2010This book is a thriller from the beginning to the end. Twists of fate dealing with the underworld of drugs and smugglers. Slave runners in the modern day world. A great fast action reading That you wish wouldnt end. I hope the author makes another. I can see this being made into a movie. I have recommended this to my friends and would defintitly recommend this to you.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2010Fallen Lotus Petals, by Jordon Papanier, is a novel of crime and suspense, about FBI agent Tom Larson's personal and professional life, as he encounters drug and human trafficking, murder, domestic abuse, a cross country move, and the discovery of a new type of gun, made from plastic that isn't detected on scans coming into or leaving the country.
When I begin a novel that I can't get into right away, I have a difficult time finishing it. If the plot and characters in the first chapter or two don't pull me in, I put the book down and don't pick it up again.
When I picked up "Fallen Lotus Petals", I read eight or nine chapters without stopping. Papanier hooked me from the beginning; I went to New York with FBI Agent Tom Larson, and then to Los Angeles with him. The storyline is engaging; Papanier's vivid descriptions take me to some places I've not been before, and some I have, and I can see them all in my mind. (I hadn't thought about Tony's Restaurant in years - what a fun memory. And I could see in my mind the spot where Tom was involved in a car accident. I haven't been to either place in years.)
In "Fallen Lotus Petals", Papanier writes about real-life events that members of our law enforcement encounter every day, including mental illness and murder, and including abuse of one human being by another. Papanier's main character, FBI Agent Tom Larson has a soft heart and a solid sense of right and wrong when it comes to tracking down criminals. Larson is is one of the good guys, protective of the weak, aggressive with the bad guys, a righter of wrongs, a man who is willing to risk his career and break the rules in a creative way in order to give girls imprisoned in human trafficking a chance to return home and start over. (That part of the story had me thinking about a ministry from one of our church organizations that's aim is to fight human trafficking.)
The book was an excellent escape for me. (I wish I were on the beach reading it, though.) I enjoyed the story.
Jordon's a fantastic writer.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2014Great novel and easy to read...delves into harsh areas of reality we tend to want to ignore. Its fiction but doesnt feel that way, you really get to know characters and feel for them through the whole story. Big thumbs up cant wait to see more from this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2010Fallen Lotus Petals is a novel that is fast pace and enjoyable to read. It is colorful and edgy. It's kind of a techno thriller, and it's also a murder mystery, and it's also a hardship love story. I enjoyed how the characters interact with one another. I like how the author setup the back stories and then ties them into the main story line. I like how the story drifts from current day to the past and back again. This give the reader some good insight on the main character Agent Larson background. Agent Larson has to battle through some rough mental terrains in his personal life and in his profession. Fallen Lotus Petals is a mix of fictional stories about Asian girls who becomes victims of sex-slave trafficking, designer drugs and domestic Violence but it reads and leaves you feeling as it was non-fiction. Fallen Lotus Petals leaves the reader with some things to ponder. The story line covers some sensitive current day issues but at times it is also lighthearted. I'll be on the lookout for the sequel. - Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2012Fallen Lotus Petals is a must read. I have not had this much entertainment in years! Papanier has the uncanny gift to bring a character to life. He certainly succeeded with Tom Larson. When is the sequel?
