Council discusses old fire truck and attorney position

            During its meeting on April 9, the Cuba City Council heard from two representatives of the Cuba Fire Protection District, who asked for an official transfer of the city’s historic firetruck to the district and learned that the current city attorney will not be bidding to continue that service.

            When the Cuba, MO Animal Control posted about a big long-haired yellow elderly cat on March 29, they couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.

Trash Bash scheduled for May 4

The Wood Family, a log-themed family donated to Viva Cuba by Glen Tutterrow last year, is offering smiles to those who pass by the Viva Cuba Garden at the intersection of Highway 19 and Historic Route 66, along with a reminder that Viva Cuba’s 40th Annual Trash Bash will take place on May 4. The annual community-wide clean-up day will get underway at the garden at 8:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome to participate.

Council approves new committee appointments

            The Cuba City Council officially reorganized on April 9 following the previous week’s election. Those newly elected officials, including Mayor Kevin Copling, Collector Kim Roedemeier, and council members Harold Halbert, Joyce Hartzell, and Tony Hutson, were sworn into office by City Clerk Lainie Garbo.
